Knorr-Bremse KAMA. Systems for Commercial Vehicles LLC

I got acquainted with Alt-Invest software in 1997 when I worked in the Budgeting Department, and my task was to compute a financial plan for KAMAZ JSC for the next year. My colleagues and I had not worked in this program before, therefore we had a hard time understanding the details of the model construction and adjusting it to our needs. In the beginning, to check all output forms, we even had to develop our own financial model. That’s how KAMAZ business planning switched to the Alt platform.

Then I often used Alt-Invest in investment projects development, short-term and strategic business planning. And every time I enjoyed the opportunity to get promt and fairly accurate forecast spending minimal time and effort.

Since 2008 I’ve been working in Knorr-Bremse Kama LLC - a joint venture company of KAMAZ JSC and Knorr-Bremse firm. Obviously we’ve chosen Alt-Invest Summ program solution for financial planning. In this case we were able to combine and bring together the reporting forms for both owners. When planning for a foreign owner we had to receive all forms of reporting (profit and loss statement, cash flow and balance sheet) for all major product lines and its consolidation. And Alt-Invest Summ succeeded. We like the fact that setting up the program once, we can use it with minimal revisions for the various forms of planning: from short-term monthly forecast up to 5-year strategic plan.

Of the positive points I can also mention the system's flexibility; possibility to make corrections easily and add forms; automatic translation of currencies and languages, which is especially important when working with foreign partners, who also appreciated the convenience of Alt-Invest Summ, purchased it and successfully use in their work.

There are no significant weaknesses in the program, if the specialist has a sufficient professional level. I can name one - lack of computer resources when completed financial model is 50 MB. But then, it is better to change the computer than Alt-Invest Summ.

Talking about improvements, I would recommend implementing a mechanism of distribution of indirect production and administrative overheads of the existing enterprise on new projects.
