Power Machines JSC is a leading power engineering company in Russia. In recent years, the company has been devoting considerable attention to the new types of products development and innovative technical solutions implementation, which are the determining factors for competitiveness.

Increased innovation activity raised a number of special requirements for innovative projects efficiency estimation and their selection for financing. In this regard, it was decided to develop special software, taking into account industry specifics of the company, and especially innovation.

It was decided to involve Alt-Invest Company as a developer. The main tasks pointed out for the developer were complied fully:

1. New PROJECT module provides estimation of the efficiency of innovative projects aimed at the new products creation and improvement of existing products technical and economic characteristics (based on a comparative analysis).

2. New PORTFOLIO module provides estimation of the innovative projects portfolio efficiency, development of financial sales forecast and comparison of innovation activity results with the performance of the company as a whole (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow Statement).

3. There are different estimation methods for the cost of goods sold for a sample and serial production, taking into account long-cycle production (up to 3 years).

4. Features of R & D and testing cost reflection as well as a need for technical preparation of production are taken into account.

Alt-Invest specialists paid special attention to each task set in the Specification, cooperated closely with company’s experts, trying to take into account all current observations and suggestions of the customer representatives.

In May, 2009 Alt-Invest-PM software complex was used in the test mode to estimate the efficiency of the company’s major innovation projects.

Test results showed that the developed software product is easy to use, provides quick modeling of different ways of sales forecast, report forms and totals are informative and easy to understand.
